Podiatry Assistant Application

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate  Podiatry Assistant to join our team in Brisbane.

As a Podiatry Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing essential foot care services to patients in the comfort of their own homes.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Assisting Podiatrists:

Work closely with podiatrists to provide comprehensive foot care services during home visits. Assist with tasks such as wound dressings, nail care, foot assessments, and applying orthotic devices as directed.

2. Patient Communication:

Establish rapport and maintain effective communication with patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the treatment process. Provide education and guidance on foot care practices, exercises, and any necessary lifestyle modifications.

3. Equipment and Supply Management:

Prepare and organize all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies required for each home visit. Maintain cleanliness and sterility of equipment and work areas, adhering to infection control protocols.

4. Documentation and Record-Keeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and any other relevant documentation. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.

5. Administrative Support:

Assist with general administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, managing invoices, and maintaining inventory of supplies. Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure efficient operations.

6. Professional Development:

Stay updated on the latest developments in podiatry through continuing education and professional development opportunities. Seek feedback from podiatrists and actively engage in learning opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience working in a healthcare or related field is preferred.
• Allied Health Assistant Certificate 3 or 4 or willing to obtain within 12 months of employment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds.
• Empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to provide high-quality care to patients.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to accommodate occasional weekend appointments.
