Skin and Nail Conditions

Your feet truly are the foundation of your body, carrying your entire weight with every step. Given the daily pressures and strains, it's no surprise that the skin and nails on our feet can sometimes bear the brunt of it. Over time, the daily stresses your feet endure can lead to changes in the condition of your toenails and the surrounding skin, making them more vulnerable to damage and infections.

It’s easy to overlook these issues until they become painful or start affecting your day-to-day comfort. Whether it’s thickened toenails that are hard to manage or more persistent problems like corns, calluses, cracked heels, or ingrown toenails, these conditions are more common than you might think. They can range from mildly annoying to downright painful, but the good news is that with the right care, many of them can often be effectively treated in just one visit.

Our podiatrists use sterile, medical-grade podiatry tools to take the best care of your feet. We handle everything from expertly trimming even the thickest and most stubborn toenails to treating those painful corns and calluses that make every step uncomfortable. With cracked heels, we are able to restore your skin to a smoother, healthier state. And if you’ve ever experienced an ingrown toenail, you know how quickly it can turn from a minor discomfort into a significant issue. We’re equipped to treat these effectively, helping to alleviate pain and prevent further complications.

Foot care isn’t just about immediate relief, though. It’s also about maintaining your overall foot health and preventing future problems. Regular care for your skin and nails is an important part of this, especially if you’re prone to certain conditions or if you’ve noticed changes in your feet over time.

Your feet do so much for you - let’s ensure they get the care they deserve.

Common Skin & Nail Conditions

Fungal Nails

When fungus infects the toenails, they can quickly take on a yellow/white, brittle or moth-eaten appearance.

Thickened Toenails

Thick toenails can be incredibly difficult to trim and manage, while putting you at risk of pain and discomfort.

Calluses

While calluses are a natural protective mechanism from our body, when they get too thick, they can become very painful with every step.

Corns

Corns feel like walking on a small but very painful pebble, and are often found under the bones and joints on the underside of the foot.

Plantar Warts

Warts on the feet are caused by the HPV virus, and are passed on through direct contact - often in public showers, changing rooms and pool areas where the feet are exposed.

Cracked Heels

When calluses on our heels grow big, thick and dry out, the callus can crack - and it may crack the healthy skin beneath the callus, too.

Ingrown Toenails

An ingrown toenail occurs when a piece of nail pierces the skin surrounding it and starts painfully growing inwards..

Athletes Foot

Athlete’s foot is a fungal skin infection that can make the bottom of the foot and between the toes very sore and itchy.

Nail Restoration

Keryflex nail restoration transforms the appearance of your toenails to one that is healthy, clear and beautiful in one appointment.
